Sharp DK-A1 audio docking system for iPod
The Sharp i-Elegance line of docking systems turns the iPod® into a stereo jukebox. The DK-A1 i-Elegance is a full range speaker system with side firing subwoofers that illuminate, AM/FM digital tuner and alarm clock.
Speakers are definitely the most popular iPod accessories, with new models appearing on the market every week. Sharp’s i-Elegance DK-A1 Music System for iPod, which sells for about $200, focuses on design and features. The unit consists of a built-in dock for iPod, a stereo AM/FM radio, a clock/alarm, and an auxiliary line-in.
It is finished in black or white. DK-A1 measures 6” (high) by 15” (wide) by 10” (deep). The unit’s back panel offers RCA stereo inputs for any external audio source, a headphone minijack, and a composite video output for video iPods. It comes with six EQ presets that let you tweak the sound of music for various genres, such as rock, jazz, vocals, and etc.
The DK-A1 looks pretty cool but doesn’t sound that great. It sounds OK at low volumes, but there are some problems when you crank it up. Things may get a bit harsh and distorted at high volume.
